- The competition is open to any individual 16 years and above who can sing in Malayalam.
- The applicant once selected as a contestant, should be available to participate in the virtual competition that will run from June to September.
- The applicant can be a Canadian citizen by birth or naturalization, a landed or permanent Canadian resident. Canadian students, work permit holders are also eligible. CMI requires a proof of this status before the competition commences.
- The applicant must meet character criteria as set forth by the Canadian Malayalee Idol®. If selected, the applicant should pay the registration fee of $100 CAD.
- The contestants are expected to have the following:
- Good internet connection with minimum ….mbps
- A good microphone that can be plugged on to the system.
- A well-lit room without glaring lights or sound disturbances.
We would request the contestants to send us a sample video shot of them singing with that microphone in the room that they plan to use.
